The highly successful musical, Wicked has teamed up with bestselling author and former Children’s Laureate Michael Morpurgo to launch the Wicked Young Writers’ Award which has been setup to recognise excellence in writing, encourage creativity and help develop writing talent in young people nationwide. The award will be open to entries from young people ages between 5 and 25.

Acclaimed by The Times as Londons “hugely popular musical” Wicked has announced an extension to it’s booking period at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. This ninth extension to the musical’s booking period means that the show will now run until 30th April 2011.
In addition the hit musical has announced extra matinee performances this year on the 18 February, 28 October, 20 December, 22 December, 23 December, 24 December, 28 December, 29 December and 31 December 2010, all at 2.30pm.

It has been announced today that Lee Mead, winner of the BBC One search for a Joseph, Any Dream Will Do will take on the role of Fiyero in the West End production of Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre from the 10th May 2010.

Rachel Tucker replaces Alexia Khadime as the Elphaba, she has most recently been co-presenting The Friday Show with Eamonn Holmes for BBC Northern Ireland.
