West End favourite, Kelly Ellis is to succeed I’d Do Anything winner, Jodie Prenger in the role of Nancy in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Oliver! at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
According to reports in the Daily Mail Jodie will give her last performance as Nancy on the 27th March 2010 with Kerry taking over on the 29th March 2010.

As Omid’s stint in Oliver! comes to an end another famous comedian is set to join the ranks of the comedians to play the famous role of Fagin.
This time it’s the turn of Griff Rhys Jones who will take up the reigns as Fagin from the 14th December 2009.
Jones is best known for for his television comedy double act with Mel Smith even though he is a two times Laurence Olivier Award winner.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Oliver! currently playing at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane has been extended by a full year.  The production is now b0oking until 26th February 2011.
The production opened on thew 12th February 2009 (with previews from 12th December 2008) to record advance sales of £15 million.  It opened with BBC’s and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s winner of I’d Do Anything, Jodie Prenger playing the role of Nancy.  Joining Jodie was Rowan Atkinson as Fagin.
From the 20th July 2009 Rowan will stand aside and be replaced by Omid Djalili …
