Composer and musical producer, Andrew Lloyd Webber has confirmed he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and is now undergoing treatment.

An official statement said “The condition is in its very early stages. Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.”

The diagnosis comes at a time when the composer is going to be incredibly busy with the launch to the press of the Phantom of the opera sequel, Love Never Dies on the 8th October and next year he will once again be teaming up with the BBC for a search for a Dorothy and Toto for the Wizard of Oz.
