The hilariously funny irrelivant puppet musical known only as Avenue Q has announced that it will be extending it’s current run at the Gielgud Theatre until January 2010.
This announcement marks a remarkable change of events for the show which after falling audience numbers closed at the Noel Coward earlier this year. Only to be saved by last minute audience support it moved to the Gielgud in June published as a strictly limited season due to close in September.
However it’s proved so popular with audiences that the producers have decided to extend the current run into the new year.
Avenue Q is the story of Princeton who moves to the street Avenue Q, where he meets a host of deliciously funny charachters including Trekkie Monster who surfs the net for porn and sweet and caring Kate Monster.
The current cast includes former Any Dream Will Do contestant Daniel Boys and Julie Atherton, although cast details for the extension have yet to be confirmed.
