Chicago

Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre

According to the Sunday Express in December 2007, Chicago is one of ‘London’s [most] sexiest, sensational musical’.

It is the naughty story of Cabaret Singer, Roxie Hart, who murders her lover and as a result rightly ends up in jail. Whilst in jail she is ruled over by Buxom prison warden Mama Morten making her even more desperate to get out and to right back at the centre of attention. To this end she enlists the help of sleazy lawyer Billy Flynn who is well known for getting his charges of the hook.

They work well together and both get the attention they both so desperately want unfortunately Billy sets his sights elsewhere and Roxie becomes second best. So Roxie teams up with another of Billy’s former clients – murderess Velma Kelly and together they form an unusual nightclub which they hope will keep them both in the public eye.

Chicago includes great and memorable songs like All That Jazz, Class and All I Care About.
